Landing at Tbilisi airport. Meeting and transfer to the hotel. Free day – you can come at a convenient time for you.
Breakfast in the hotel. Meet your guide at your hotel for a walking tour through the narrow streets of the Old Town. You will see the “falling tower” of the famous puppet theater Rezo Gabriadze, visit the Sioni Cathedral, where one of the shrines of Christianity is kept. We will go to one of the oldest caravanserais and take the cable car up to the Narikala Fortress, from where a bird’s-eye view of the city will open. For 3 hours of walking, you will have many beautiful photo memories.
The tour ends at the Sulfur Baths. Independent return to the hotel.
Breakfast in the hotel. 10:00 meeting with the guide. On this day you will go to the ancient capital of Georgia – the city of Mtskheta. Traveling to this city is like traveling back in time. Mtskheta is still the spiritual center of the country. Here are the architectural monuments of the world cultural heritage and we will show them to you. The excursion program includes: a stunning view of the confluence of the Aragvi and Kura rivers, the Jvari Monastery, built in the 4th century and retaining its appearance to this day, one of the “great Georgian cathedrals” – Svetitskhoveli Cathedral – a place of pilgrimage for believers from all over the world, are stored here important relics, for the three major world religions.
On the cozy streets of Mtskheta you can buy small souvenirs, churchkhela and spices. The duration of the tour is 4-5 hours.
On the way to Tbilisi, at your request, we will stop at a restaurant described in all gastro guides in Georgia (lunch is paid extra). Return to the hotel.
Breakfast in the hotel. Today we are waiting for a trip along the picturesque Georgian Military Highway to the foot of Kazbegi. This excursion captures with its stunning views of the nature of Transcaucasia. We will travel along the mountain serpentine and climb higher and higher to the alpine meadows. On the way, we will make stops at the Zhinvali reservoir, the medieval Ananuri fortress, drive through the Gudauri ski resort, visit the Arch of Friendship of Peoples, and go up in off-road vehicles to the Holy Trinity Church. From the observation deck at the temple, a magnificent view of the snow-capped peak of the famous mountain opens. We promise you will take your breath away from the height, clean air and the feeling of Freedom.
Tasty on this trip will be khinkali, which we will try in one of the restaurants in the village of Pasanauri.
Return to Tbilisi around 20:00.
Breakfast in the hotel. Departure to the Eastern part of Georgia – the wine region of Kakheti. On this day, we will visit the “City of Love” – Sighnaghi, visit the branch of the State Historical Museum, which houses a large collection of works by the Georgian artist Niko Pirosmani. Not far from Signagi is the monastery of St. Nino Equal to the Apostles – one of the key figures of Georgian Orthodoxy. She, still in IV, converted the country to Christianity. In the monastery is her grave – a place of worship for pilgrims from all over the world. The wishes made by St. Nino come true.
Lunch in Sighnaghi (extra charge).
You will learn more about how Georgian wine is made and its taste when we arrive in the city of Kvareli, one of the oldest factories in the region. Excursion and tasting of 4 varieties of wine.
Overnight at a guest house or hotel in Telavi.
Breakfast in the hotel. Tour of the city of Telavi – the capital of the region, which is known to everyone who has watched the film “Mimino” at least once. We will visit the palace of King Erekli II, touch the tree, which is 950 years old and go to the estate of the princes Chavchavadze in the village of Tsinandali (excursion and tasting).
Returning to Tbilisi, we will visit one of the oldest Cathedrals in Georgia – Alaverdi.
We will be in Tbilisi approximately at 17:00.
Breakfast in the hotel. In the morning, we will go to the oldest cave city in Georgia, Uplistsikhe. This is one of the most important historical monuments, which preserved the details of several cultural and religious periods of the country’s life, starting from the end of the 2nd millennium BC. Uplistsikhe is a dead city, which is completely carved into the rock.
The region of Kartli, where Uplistsikhe is located, is also famous for its wine. On the way back to Tbilisi, we will visit Chateau Ateni. During the tasting, you will be able to get acquainted with 4 varieties of wine from this region. Lunch during tasting.
Uplistsikhe is located 12 km from the city of Gori and, if desired, you can visit the Stalin’s house-museum.
Return to Tbilisi around 18:00.
